Service Dogs
Each
assistance dog is individually selected and trained to suit the
needs, personality and lifestyle of each handler.
FBI Assistance Dogs can perform the following tasks:
"MAGIC" helping to pull her handlers wheelchair.
- Help people live independent lives
- Provide companionship
- Pull a wheelchair
- Retrieve dropped items
- Get help or retrieve the phone in emergencies
- Pay cashier
- Pull alarm or emergency cord
- Push medical alert button/alarm
- Turn light switches on & off
- Open & close doors (including refrigerator)
- Get medications
- Perform medical alert (i.e. seizure) response tasks
- Push elevator buttons
- Push public access push plates
- Help handler to brace
- Help handler to get in & out of bed, chairs, etc.
- Help a fallen handler
- Perform other tasks as needed
